Be prepared...over the next couple of weeks Ill be spamming the fuck out of this thread...Well, not spamming per se, but posting a fuck ton of photos hopefully, and maybe some cool stories bro.

In the meantime, feast your eyes on this tasty piece of artwork Ive been working on. I plan to hand it to them, but Im not sure yet...Not to mention, I only have a week or so to complete it and Im not even a quarter finished..Oi. Basically Ill have plants native to Santa Barbara and palm trees framing them with the Santa Barbara coastline and sunset behind them when it's completed.

So I saw them on Saturday at Phono Del Sol in San Francisco. Can I just tell you guys how perfect of a summer day it was!? First of all, it was clear and sunny which is a rarity in San Francisco. It was just beautiful! Everyone was chill and just relaxing on blankets in the grass, smoking grass, and just soaking up the sun.

It wasn't crowded, no one was trying to push to the front because everyone just respected everyone's space and didn't step on anyone's blanket.

There was delicious food trucks, carnival games, outdoor bowling, and a beer garden. The bands were just hanging out with everyone else on the grass, it was just beautiful!

Even if next year's lineup isn't as good, I might just go because of the atmosphere. Anyway, so Gardens & Villa....

Their set seemed shorter than the other bands but I think it's just because I could listen to them play all day, but they also played two new ones. One Ive never heard, and the other I've actually heard on Youtube called "Avalanche". They're so amazing and I seriously can't wait for their next album.

After they performed, the guys were all hanging out behind us. I wanted to talk to Dusty since Ive had interaction with him, but my friend chickened out and felt like we would creep them out because we're seeing them next weekend too. I disagree and almost find it creepier to have interaction, then act like it didn't happen next time around...I don't know. I should have the drawing done this weekend so I'll be able to hand it to them if I get the chance, but now Im just getting nervous.

Anyway, here are some photos. Ill post videos later...especially the new one. I only got about a minute of it, but it's so good!!! Ive been listening to it non-stop even though it's only part of the song.

Anyway..if anyone cares, their Fleetwood Mac cover of "Gypsy" is absolutely spectacular...I've had it on repeat all day. It's simply beautiful...

Yesterday was simply amazing. I gave my drawing to Chris from Gardens & Villa and it went pretty well. He hugged me when I first even walked up to him and didn't even introduce myself. He was super nice and just kept telling me how sweet I am and kept hugging me. I told him that I thought it was awesome Dusty gave me the drumsticks at the first show I went to and that was why I did the drawing. He said that it really means a lot to him and it gives him and the rest of the band strength. We talked a bit about their new songs and he said they have seven new ones and they plan to have a new album out by next spring. It's just been really hard for them to get in the studio with all the touring going on. He gushed about how they've been hanging out with Future Islands backstage and he also complimented the shirt I was wearing which was really nice of him. Lol I also told him I was actually really nervous to give him the drawing and didn't want to come off as creepy or anything. He laughed and gave me another hug and was just like "Nooo! This means so much. It really does. You are just so sweet" He's just a super sweet guy and you guys, Im serious, go see them if they tour near you!!!

So the best part about all of this is soon as we got done talking he went backstage, took a photo of it, and posted it to instagram. He TAGGED ME IN THE PHOTO with my instagram account......which I never told him about...and thanked me for it. Im wondering if he recognized me or something (I do like pretty much all their photos on there) but it was just the best feeling in the world. I just fucking love these guys so much.

So not only did they play a couple new ones yesterday, they also played Gypsy!!!!!
Omg I was soooo excited when I realized and tried to record it as soon as I could. The video really doesn't do it justice because it picks up the people talking behind me but what I do love about that is they all eventually shut up because they get entranced by the G&V vibes...

This thread has turned into me just babbling on about G&V...lol..oh well.

LOVE THEM NOW BITCHESSSSSSSSSSSS 

So I saw G&V again last Wednesday night at a free show at San Francisco State University. Aside from sound problems that were out of the guys’ control (which didn’t make a huge difference to me..I think they needed an extra monitor SFSU didn’t have or something) but they still sounded amazing to me. I was front and center during the performance and looking around a few people were mouthing the words so I knew there were some fans in the audience, which is great, especially for a free show. They played Gypsy again, which sounded amazing, but I think it was lost on this particular college audience. They seemed to be obviously in more of a party mood than vibing out to Gypsy, which is fine, but it truly is a beautiful cover, especially performed live..They also played three new ones, including one I hadn't heard before. I feel like every time I see them I hear a new one, which is awesome. Can't wait for this new album/EP whatever they're up to...

I also talked with Chris and met Adam. We talked about my drawing and Adam mentioned that he recognized the fact that I used the native plants of the area, which was really cool because it was intentional and I was hoping they'd recognize that element. We also talked Future Islands and how excited they were to be opening for them in Seattle. They're all such nice guys. Definitely go see them if they're touring near you!
