Pink Floyd
« on: September 04, 2010, 04:26:53 PM »

So I searched for Pink Floyd topics and I couldn't find any. Only mentioned in various posts in different threads. This thread is for fans of Pink Floyd to converse. What is your favourite time frame for Pink Floyd?

I just started listening to them and I am obsessed with Syd's reign in the band but now i am also enjoying the bands later stuff as well. I love their psychedelic sound.

Cerque, have you listened to this?  Texas Bob from TVPs turned me on to it.

Pink Floyd deserve more than a thread. Not a day passes without me listening to The Great Gig In The Sky. I was playing The Dark Side of the Moon on my record player as I saw this post. I'm obsessed with that album. Sometimes, I try to sit with myself, listen to it, and create a story out of it. I hope they would make a movie out of it, like they did with The Wall. I know it is not long enough, but they could do a short film, perhaps.

If only success didn't take the best of Roger Waters, we would have had more albums like The Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Animals, Division Bell, Pulse...etc. Long live the legendary Pink Floyd.

I still think all the stuff that looks inexplicably related/complementary is just us seeing a tiny fraction of a bigger interconnected whole; we're seeing the intersection of a higher-dimensional phenomenon slicing through our 3+ dimensional existence.

Cerque,

Are you aware that Dan Treacy wrote a song called, I Know Where Syd Barret Lives?
