Yay, Muse!

What's Track 4 on Black Holes and revelations? It's by far their best song. ;D

edit** Map of Problematique. Got it. xD

Anyway I really love this band, I'm just getting into their music.

WELL FIRST THINGS FIRST

I made a muse thread named, "Um, Hello?"

SECOND THINGS SECOND

I love that song! The first time I heard it I was on such an adrenaline rush...it was my senior year, i ditched class with friends to go steal pot plants. this girl we know's parents grow like 40 plants in their back yard and we snuck in their and grabbed two huge LA Confidential and Afgani Kush plants, my heart was racing and i hopped in the car and this was blasting. Ahh, those were the days indeed.

THIRD THINGS THIRD

Can't wait until their new album, every time their new song plays i find myself driving faster

I'd take Radiohead, Coldplay, and Oasis over them. But Muse, along with Keane are definitely up there

in my opinion, muse is nowhere the best british band. and also, i don't think they're getting better and better. quite the opposite. their earlier stuff is okay, but black holes and revelations was just horrible. i've only heard bad about the new record so i can't even be bothered to listen to it. so i don't have a personal opinion on that one, except that uprising was quite boring. but that's just my opinion, like i said.

I wasn't that far away from the stage. Maybe 15 ish feet, but we were on the right side, and that was like Chris's side, so I got really good shots of him. And uuh. My camera is a Canon Powershot S5 IS. I think they have a newer model out now, though.

FINALLY found a muse thread! I am most defintely one of the biggest Muse fans in Texas. We musers are very crazy (just for the record). I actually was there at the ACL concert. It was amazing. Seen them twice, and you know nothing of Muse until you have seen them live. You might think they're overrated, but until you've been to one of their concerts you have absolutely no idea.
Oh yeah, and my good friend Gerry has some WONDERFUl muse pics and videos. He's also met them a couple of times. (I'm am SUPER jealous)

My dad says the exact same thing about Muse all the time... I really do like Muse and he's like "they're not something I listen to frequently but they are insanely talented and you will never ever be able to fully appreciate the greatness of their music till you see them live, it's so freaking apparent and mind blowing." Needless to say I really hope to see Muse someday..

So it's official? I mean there's been ALOT of rumors and I was really hoping... LOLLA!!! yay! There's been lots of discussion on the Muse forum but I wasn't sure the gig was still on (ya' know with Kate Hudson being preggers and all).
I was still pretty sure it was still on, but I wasn't sure because times are changing over in Muse-land.

Seen them twice, and you know nothing of Muse until you have seen them live. You might think they're overrated, but until you've been to one of their concerts you have absolutely no idea.

Arrogant much? If I'm already ambivalent about their music, the fact that they play it well live won't make me suddenly think "OMG how wrong was I?!?". I might think they are a better live act than album band, but it doesn't mean I'll suddenly think they aren't overrated or that my opinion doesn't count (especially when their sets are often broadcast from festivals, they've released live DVDs/CDs. It's not like the only footage of them available is if you are physically there.

As for the thing about bands playing music before a show and whether they choose it themselves - simple answer is that it varies. Sometimes bands will say they want specific music played, other times they will employ a DJ to do it, and sometimes it is left completely up to the venue itself.

Although I've been criticising them, I do approve of their decision to play the entirety of Origin Of Symmetry at Leeds/Reading this weekend.

Your wit kills me (regarding the Depeche mode comparison). Also, that comment above makes me think of the Radiohead fan video. "No, you don't understand. Muse are the very best. I will tie you up to a chair and make you listen to their entire catalogue. I will kill you and stuff your corpse with a stereo, so your body will sing out Matt Bellamy, etc."
I have no idea why I was compelled to go to this thread, but I do have to admit that Absolution is still a pretty solid album. Hysteria is one of those tracks that I cannot skip when it comes on shuffle. I often deny that I have any sort of affiliations with the Muse fanbase because it's like admitting that I have a soft spot for Chris Martin's songwriting...I will never live it down.

So Muse's new album is coming out this September and they just released a trailer for it.  It's going to be called "The 2nd Law" apparently.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/IqFZGnfMLMw?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/IqFZGnfMLMw?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US&amp;amp;rel=0</a>

The ending definitely threw me, lol

So here's the official song for the 2012 London Olympics

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/68mw8AE9l_g?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/68mw8AE9l_g?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

At first I was like WTF, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it.  I will forever trust Muse--even when they throw a curveball like this.

I personally hate Muse. Since Origin of Symmetry, Matt Bellamy has started writing more and more songs about Kate Hudson. Although I am aware she wasn't around for Absolution or Black Holes...I still think they're shit.

I heard the new single. I didn't like their second most recent album, and this song didn't really impress me either. At least I have Tame Impala for now!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  Just got back from seeing them in their 2nd Law tour.  So fucking good, but we all knew that right?  Their stage was amazing and they sounded perfect.  Songs from the new album bumped out some of my old favorites, but I'll just have to deal.

Do you think they would play at my birthday party?

"I want to bring it back to just being about the music that we are playing, about the instruments, the guitar, the bass, the drums and these personalities.

I have this strong feeling that the next album should be something that really does strip away the additional things that we've experimented with on the last two albums, which is electronics, symphonics and orchestral work and all that kind of stuff. I kind of feel like it will be nice to reconnect and remind ourselves of just the basics of who we are."

Thank fuck.  It's not to say I didn't enjoy the last two albums, but I definitely enjoyed them far less than everything else they've released.

I heard about this. Matt is just such an incredibly gifted musician, that I can't not respect anything that he wants to try. That being said, I'm stoked as fuck.

It's getting there, thanks for asking!  I got to ditch the sling on Monday and can finally go back to work with lifting restrictions.

And you're absolutely right about Matt, he's definitely on a different level from most.  I'm convinced he shits rainbows, especially after watching their newest live dvd.

Can we talk about it?  It comes out in June and they're ditching all the orchestra and electronic stuff they've been doing the last couple of albums.  What do you think of the first single?  I'm so excited for this album!

Here's the link to it since I can't remember how to embed YouTubes on here  ::)

And I simply don't get how the naysayers exist!!!  I'm glad they're returning to their rock roots.  The electronic stuff was not my favorite.
