I'm wondering if anyone was asked for their ID.

I'd do it - no harm in it, def worth skipping work to hear your favourite band's album a month early. Especially if you really really think highly of their music. Smiley

I got there around 4:25 or so and they had us sign waivers.  Then they let the 9 of us load into the van after checking all of our ID's.  They passed out some snacks, bottles of water, and some colored pencils with lyric books to the new album "Congratulations."  Then... we were the first 9 people to listen to the entire new album while we drove around an area of Brooklyn by the Glasslands.  When we returned they gave us all t-shirts and took pictures of us and interviewed us about our thoughts on the album.  Unfortunately, MGMT themselves were not there, but the experience and the exclusive preview of the album was worth it.  My thoughts on the album?  Awesome

@siberian breaks ~wow! I wanna wear that shirt when I bust out my gamecube and play Sonic Heroes. I'm even more excited when they come to Los Angeles just to hear the album. Did you get to color the lyric book or what?

Yea that's what the colored pencils were for... I personally chose not to really color that much and to instead listen to the songs and look at the lyrics and look at the Brooklyn scenery/look at the view of Manhattan from the van.

did they tell you not to type up the lyrics to the other songs inline? perhaps we could get a small idea of what the other songs are like.

Well they told us to make sure we weren't recording anything while we were on the bus, but I didn't exactly read the waiver I signed (really smart, I know...) so I'm not sure if they want us putting up the lyrics to songs on here, but my guess would be no.  So I'd rather not take a chance and put anything up here that would get me in trouble.

Debbie gave us the lyrics to Congratulations last June-so no worries.  Thanks for sharing your experience!

How long did the whole thing take, say, from the time you arrived to the time you came back from the van ride? I'm trying to figure out if I could make it in time for my exam (6h30 pm) next tuesday.

I got there around 4:25 and by the time we got back and they interviewed us and everything, it was almost 6 o'clock.  So I would say you would be cutting it close for a 6:30 exam, but you could probably still make it.
