I just listened to a few songs on my son's new Dr. Dre Monster Beat headphones.  Shit.  It got me thinking.  What are some of your favorite songs that can only be truly appreciated with headphones?

Hmm recently I've been listening to the track 'Let's Go Away For Awhile' by the Beach Boys, it's instrumental and I think due to the nature of it that it really is a heaphones kind of track because you can only truly focus on /appreciate everything that goes on with headphones.

It's really beautiful.

You know me, obsessed with electronica. Lots of those sound lovely in headphones Some of my favorites:

Lovelight (Soulwax Ravelight Dub) -- Robbie Williams
E Talking (Nite Version) -- Soulwax
H.A.L -- SebastiAn
One Minute To Midnight -- Justice

Also, if you listen to the Antlers in really good headphones, with it turned up really loud, in the dark, it's haunting. The songs Wake and Kettering.

ANYTHING by The Flaming Lips. They're careful with what sounds go through which side of the headphones, and it sounds amazing when it's played that way. When you listen to it in the car or through a computer it's not the same.

I like listening to 'Catch The Wind' by Donovan through headphones, as the string effect is much better than listening through normal speakers.
