I don't get why Vampire Weekend seem to be so hated in the US. There seems to be this huge backlash about them that I've never really seen in Europe, it's weird

Europeans appreciate weird and unique music more than Americans. I know that's HUGE stereotype against my own country, but not very many people in the U.S can represent music like Vampire Weekend's.

I wish I was french.
If only great music came out of the US Like Vampire Weekend and MGMT...........Oh wait they do!  ;D

Your just hanging around the wrong people if everyone hates them

why would you want to be french ? it's a bit boring if you ask me. It seems like all the good bands come from the US and especially NYC these days... That's where everything is happening!

And in the NME video, the question is "who deserves bad karma ?"
but MGMT later said in an MTV interview that it was fake and they're actually friends :

yeah, I don't know. For me, good music in general comes from the US (Chicago, NYC, and Denver), the UK, and France. and let me tell you. being an american is SO boring. The only good thing for me is my school and going to concerts.

that's true, NYC and San Fransisco probably have the best music scenes in the country.

ahh yes... I forgot about good 'ol California. LA is so undeserving, though. Which is why San Fransisco is so much cooler.

Bit random but for some weird reason I was watching 90210 and in it one of the characters invites another to a secret Vampire Weekend gig....I laughed when it happend - obviously a bit desperate to get credibility with a 'hip, young'.
The hour of Gossip Girl I watched before was far superior.

Just felt like sharing that
