Vampire Weekend
« on: January 19, 2009, 02:23:02 PM »

Yeah, yeah they were last year's next big thing, but who cares! I love their music. I really can't think of another band who sounds like them. Although I really can't relate to their lyrics....at all....haha. They are great to put on for doing chores around the house, or driving around town on a nice day. Any other fans out there?

M-79 most likely! I dunno why all my friends just decided to go with the crowd that seems
to place them in the same hate bracket as nickel-crades
still one of the few bands I like their whole cd

I think they're overrated. The album was sort of disappointing to me, I liked a few songs, like Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, and I think they're a decent band, I don't necessarily dislike them, but nothing really reached out and grabbed me. None of the songs gave me that "Holy shit! I'm in love! I need to listen to this 24/7!" feeling that a band being hailed as "best band of 08!" should give me.

I actually met them randomly outside of Amoeba Records one time. They were pretty nice guys.

yeah i love them, i found them on myspace just like MGMT and I like oxford comma or  Apunk. Both kickass songs, and the video they did for Apunk is sick.

I have their album and enjoy it. It's nothing that's going down in history but I can groove to it when it's on. Since that's what I do to music, I groove to it.
