i'm a bit intimidated by this band. where does one start?
im a really big fan of the early syd barrett stuff some good starting songs are see emily play, jugband blues, lucifer sam, julian dream, and let there be more light... right after syd left (was kicked out) watch live at Pompeii its such a wonderful film... later stuff one slip, poles apart, the final cut (album), marooned, high hopes, and wearing the inside out. some other great jams are echoes, one of these days, shine on you crazy diamond (full), embryo, the man and the journey (sort of bootleg album), atom heart mother, and I'm not a big fan of animals but its a lot better to listen to live.

and of course DSOTM... its such a good album if you haven't listed to it yet then, i don't know what to say if that was the case, but! that album is amazing live check out dsotm live on BBC
Floyd is too good, fav album is prolly atom heart mother or saucerful of secrets

Atom Heart Mother!  I agree.  And the song is so epic!
wow yeah love atom heart mother and early syd pink Floyd too...i also would recommend to check out the Division Bell at some point on your PF journey..I also guilty pleasure enjoy On the Turning Away from momentary lapse of reason, although I might be the only person I know who likes that album 😐

Start wherever you can.
Maybe start with dark side
Make your way back to piper
Onto atom heart mother
And so on
Avoid the wall
Sorry that's just me, the wall doesn't get me going.
Then go back to syds solo stuff
Then read lots of bios and watch interviews
Then revisit everything chronologically.
Then you'll dig the wall for a bit
Now ten years have got behind you
And you're either a waters loyalist
Or more likely a Gilmour girl
Or perhaps you're something greater
Like an all around appreciator.
