It's done.  It's completely ready.  Hank said they're just waiting for the suits to decide when to release it.  I'm really looking forward to it!  The guys are all super pumped about it  :D

Kuroma's new single and I love it!!!

Kuromarama out in 2015, maybe someone will pop in to give us a hopeful date.  I know that this has been complete for some time and Hank and company have been anxious to get it released  :)

Feature ⋅  Jeremy Daniel  ⋅  December 24th, 2014 ⋅  378 Views

Started in 2012 by Hank Sullivant, former bassist of The Whigs and guitarist of MGMT, Sullivant had just finished recording his as-yet-untitled solo project. When he slipped the compact disc of stuff he had just recorded into his computer, he was more than a bit surprised to find every track brimming with metadata. Artist: Kuroma. Who was he to argue with serendipity?

For Kuromarama, Sullivant recruited James Richardson, Simon O'Connor and Will Berman to round out the band. Recorded between the band's hometowns of Brooklyn, NY and Athens, GA, the sound of Kuromarama most closely resembles that of an artisanal prescription spectrum of liquified jollyrancher, each flavor – each color – imbued with a solace wrung from the depths of a salty ocean trench. Kuroma play refreshing, soul-satisfying music. Their sound is the sound a record needle would make if it traced the bottom of a rainbow's grooves.

Getting a little love from Spin!

Stream Kuroma's Glam-Pop Gem 'Love Is on the Way'

The Hank Sullivant-fronted outfit's new single is a sublime little groover
An early member of the Whigs and a guitarist for MGMT, Hank Sullivant found his own voice as singer/guitarist of the four-piece pop/rock outfit Kuroma. The group's third album, the excellent (and superlatively titled) Kuromarama, is due out later this spring, and the new single from it is the irresistible "Love Is on the Way." The song marries a Bo Diddley riff to a boogeying shuffle and a lithe falsetto, united by a '70s sort of cheesy utopianism. The final product is like Scissor Sisters covering David Bowie's "Up the Hill Backwards," and just as delectible as that description would imply.

This makes me deliriously happy!

NEW MUSIC
JAY FROM TAME IMPALA'S REMIX OF KUROMA'S "20+CENTURIES" IS A CAROUSEL RIDE ON WARP SPEED

Perhaps you recognize the name Hank Sullivant. He's played guitar with MGMT (and was an early member of the Whigs, but as Kuroma he's found his groove working a bright and breezy psych-pop groove and whose debut album Kuromarama was produced by MGMT's Ben Goldwasser. The quartet currently on the road (kicking off tonight) in support of said record, playing on tours supporting Ex Hex, Tennis, Tame Impala—the latter of which is clearly a match made in heaven.

The original of "20+Centuries" is zingy, kaleidoscopic kind of power pop with a herd of stallions stampeding all over it. But Jay Watson of Tame Impala cut, chopped, sauteed and stir-fried the stems of the song to make it totally unrecognizable, kicking off with a beat that's the spit of Rihanna's "Umbrella," Watson's rework is Ratatat on amphetamines, whirling on  awarp speed merry-go-round. Jump aboard.

This is just plain fun  :D
