Hmmm... a lot of folks are mentioning the cure, but methinks there's been a bit of inspiration from Nivek Ogre for this look.

Ive missed them so much! It was everything I could have hoped for!

Loved seeing Connan in the video. He seems to always be somehow connected to bands/musicians I like.

MGMT
MGMT got a bad rap for shooting to fame as their 2007 debut album, Oracular Spectacular, become the unfortunate soundtrack to frat parties (and post-college parties that wished they were frat parties). We can't really hold that against the duo. Oracular Spectacular may never extricate itself from its fans, but it doesn't have to: MGMT's follow-up, 2010's Congratulations, alienated those who wanted more "Kids" and "Time to Pretend," instead favoring the antagonistic obscurantism of wandering psychedelic electronica, which results in the band's best album. Hatebreed and Sorority Noise are worthy candidates for this title, but neither has had the impact of MGMT; you might not relish seeing artists like Foster the People make a living off a somewhat derivative synthy vibe, but MGMT certainly helped usher in a new era of modern pop-rock.

Good stuff. The vid had Connan Mockasin in it, which leaves me hopeful for an mgmt/connan song.

I only took a few pics at Mamby and they aren't good, but I just wanted to show you the setting on Lake Michigan. Imagine this and the fireworks going off during OMBAM. It was spectacular!

An incredible day/night with the boys. Mamby was one of the best shows I've seen. They're all so happy and they played for an hour and a half with fireworks at the end during OMBAM. I'll post pics tomorrow. There are a few on my tumbler and Instagram.
im only going to assume you've heard some of the new album... so what do you think?!? Also set list?

I'm madly in love with the new album already. I think that everyone will be really pleased. They translate so well live. Last night they played Me And Michael, LDA (two of my faves off the album), James and When You Die. I meant to grab a setlist but I was hurting and I had to pee. They opening with POW. They played everything that they've played so far this summer plus Flas (my fave live song). Alien Days was the only song off of MGMT. They dedicated The Yourh to Simon as he's the "youngest" member of the band 😂  The Kids jam was my favorite that I've ever heard. This was the longest time slot that they've had. I think they played 16 songs.
