Lady Dada's Nightmare is definitely a grower, you gotta hear it a few times.

@IntoTheForest: I definitely see where you're coming from, I Found A Whistle is one of my least favorites on Congratulations. For me, all of the others over-power it.

@Purplebash: I really hope you have listened to Metanoia more than 1 time by now.. it's truly amazing.

@Durene: I looked on YouTube and couldn't find it and I know I've seen it on there before.. and yet strangely enough it's on my iPod.. maybe it was removed?

Hi, my name is Kyle. I'm 18 years old and from Missouri. Never seen MGMT live (yeah i wanna kill myself everyday, but i have my fingers crossed for a US spring tour). I play guitar in my free time and i like MGMT. I'm looking forward to being a part of this forum. :)

Welcome Kyle....it ain't gonna happen  :(
A US spring tour? :(

Yes...they need time off and they have to start writing.  I am hopeful that there may be an occasional show late next year, but I think even that isn't super likely.
WHAT?! not even a summer tour? man i'm so bummed now.. :-\

MGMT / Least favorite or least played MGMT song!

I figured since you have a most favorite and most played thread, why not a least favorite?
surely you all can decide on one you don't really like as much as the others  :P

For me it would have to be Kids or some of the stuff from Climbing to New Lows.

does anyone know what the symbols Andrew wears mean? Like all the necklaces and that button he always has on his collar.

New guitar?!?   :o

This might sound really stupid, but I wonder if it's easier on his should for some reason.

That actually probably very true, Gibson Les Pauls are on the heavier end of guitars and that Airline guitar definitely looks like it would be lighter... however, i'm sad to see he put up the Gibson, hopefully that's temporary.

Also, does anyone have any pictures of Andrew, or any of the other guys, wearing a jean jacket? (yeah this is a pretty odd request, i know)

okay so i wasn't going to make a topic for this, since that would be a waste of space so i came here for answers.

I remember watching a live video before of them performing Brian Eno and during the "Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno" part, Andrew takes the microphone off the stand and walks around and does some little spinning pointing gesture at the crowd, then put the mic back on the stand and plays the rest of the song. I cannot find this video ANYWHERE. I could of sworn it was on Saturday Night Live or some late night show, but I can't seem to find it anywhere on youtube. I was really wanting to see this performance again and I was wondering if any of you guys know what I'm talking about.

Maybe I just dreamt this happened...  ???

Oh yeah and MGMT got the 19th best album of 2010, not the 58th haha. it went from 75 to 1 not 1 to 75  ;D

Off the top of my head I can only think of this . . .  but it's not from Brian Eno, so I don't think this is what you mean.  It definitely wasn't Saturday Night Live though.

Yeah it was kind of like that, but it definitely was Brian Eno.. what other late night shows did they play Brian Eno on??

Driving home from Mexico in a van full of people, and I am in the far back. Siberian Breaks comes on the stereo, and I'm looking at the Mexican sunset, and it's just about to progress into balance the books, and the song changed to Eminem. I honestly don't know what to do. I think the feeling would be similar to almost putting a spoonful of cookie dough into your mouth and having someone rip it out of your hand
i would bitch slap whoever changed the song.

and those hispterrunoff articles are hilarious! i love reading them.
